St. George's Dragon Cafe - St. Charles Ave: Anyone wishing to accompany deacon candidate, Charmaine Kathmann, to help at St. George's Episcopal Church's Dragon Cafe on Friday, May 18th please call 504-628-4447 and speak to Charmaine. The Dragon Cafe is a ministry of feeding the hungry and listening to their stories. After Katrina, the Dragon Cafe served relief workers and people coming back to live in the city. However, recently the population has shifted to many families and people who are very poor and in great need. The primary role of our help with the Dragon Cafe is to just talk to the people and hear their stories.
Mobile Respite Van: The Diocese of Louisiana still has the mobile respite van travel 5 days per week to offer relief supplies. At this time the van is going out on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday being led by Deacon Quin Bates at 504-666-1798. On Saturday, May 26th, deacon candidate, Charmaine Kathmann will be bringing the mobile van to St. Bernard. Please call Charmaine at 504-628-4447 if you can help with the mobile respite van.
